FNQ mini roadshows to focus on pest and disease management
The latest round of mini roadshows for Far North Queensland is set for June. This series will focus on integrated pest and disease management in banana production and will feature presentations on bunch pests, yellow Sigatoka and mites.

At a recent field day at South Johnstone Research Station, Research Horticulturist Shanara Veivers gave an overview of a recent desuckering trial. Results indicate that undertaking an additional early desuckering application in the plant crop of tissue-cultured plants can significantly improve yield and stability in the following ratoon crop.
